"Would you please pray for my best friend's daughter who is 46 and has
a very aggressive form of breast cancer? She has been through chemo, and today is having a mastectomy followed by reconstructive surgery. We are praying that they find and remove any traces of the cancer and that it never reoccurs. Thanks so much.
I often, in one way or another, am involved in a supportive way with a cancer patients-- My volunteer job. Very sad and I'm sure I have said this before: cancer takes over a person's life. One of my former parishioners' is fighting and I often visit with her, email or text. She texted me yesterday as I wondered why she wasn't coming in for treatment? Had the day off. So, I asked her how she was doing? "OK." How are your spirits?
"For the most part, good but she does miss her "old self," meaning when she was not worried about her health, her treatment, and felt good." She is 51. Cancer is so insidious.
